I need new wings, new paths...
Juliusz Słowacki
Love, freedom, youth, rebellion against canons and conventions, the flourishing of individualism, the primacy of spirit over matter, mystery, fantasy, imagination, the idea of nature as a living and sensing whole, references to folklore – these are some of the romantic ideals we continue to swear by 200 years later.
This year’s 25th International Book Fair in Kraków® will draw inspiration from Polish Romanticism. 2022 has been declared the year of Romanticism, marking the 200th anniversary of the first edition of the “Ballads and Romances” by Adam Mickiewicz, which is commonly accepted as the beginning of the Romantic period in Poland.
Meanwhile, we encourage You to remember the 24th International Book Fair in Krakow, inspired by the works of the outstanding Polish futurologist Stanisław Lem, who wrote that man lives by change. Changes and modifications have become ubiquitous in every field, which is why the International Fair in Krakow was open to changes. This year's edition of the Fair was an event that combined the traditional formula of a fair in a hall with online activities on the Virtual Platform.
We offered Exhibitors, Visitors and Authors the opportunity to participate in the event online. Meetings with authors, discussion panels and live-streamed debates are already available on our website in the 2021 Edition tab. Exhibitors who have registered for the training are invited to use the video materials.
